GOETEC Ltd Launch Event
Friday 14th October 2011 in Maidstone
Background
Kent MAN's operational responsibilities for running a network will cease in the near future. Kent MAN has therefore decided to change the company name and rebrand as GOETEC (pronounced Go-Tech), with the goals of representing the needs of the universities and colleges with KPSN and JANET(UK), and providing a focus for ICT related shared services in the region.
Time, Location and Hospitality
The event will take place in Maidstone (venue to be advised) from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Programme
Topics will include:
- The goals of GOETEC Limited, and how we will support you, including some real world examples.
- KPSN services that may be of interest, including resilient connections, SDSL connectivity, and other services including email and web filtering, firewalling, and server hosting.
- A presentation by Guy Sudron, our JANET(UK) regional customer engagement manager. Guy will introduce his role, and talk about the JANET services that are available, including the new JANET 3G service.
- An overview of a KPSN project to extend the Eduroam model for roaming wireless access to other public sector locations.
- Q&A on networking in the region, the plans for KPSN, JANET(UK) and GOETEC, and how we will support your needs.
Cost
The event will be free of charge for JANET/KPSN/Kent MAN connected sites.
