The event is free of charge for JANET/KPSN/Kent MAN connected organisations.
Kent MAN's operational responsibilities for running a network will cease at the end of September. Kent MAN has therefore decided to change the company name and rebrand as GOETEC (pronounced Go-Tech), with the goals of representing the needs of the universities and colleges with KPSN and JANET(UK), and providing a focus for ICT related shared services in the region.
Topics will include:
- The goals of GOETEC Limited, and how we will support you, including some real world examples.
- KPSN services that may be of interest, including resilient connections, SDSL connectivity, offsite hosting and email and web filtering.
- A presentation by Guy Sudron, our JANET(UK) Regional Customer Engagement Manager. Guy will introduce his role, and give an overview of the services available from JANET(UK).
- Details of the JANET Roaming Service (eduroam) and the new JANET 3G service.
- An overview of a KPSN project to extend the eduroam model for roaming wireless access to other public sector locations.
- Panel Q&A GOETEC, JANET(UK) and KPSN, and how we will support your needs.
